I’m always looking for a simple drink to serve for company or bring to a party.
Recently we enjoyed dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Handlebar, and instead of ordering a beer I tried something different.
They call it a Dark & Crabby, and I believe it was a combination of ginger, lime and a bit of dark rum.
Last weekend’s progressive dinner was the perfect excuse to try out this drink, and it was surprisingly simple!
- 1-2 oz dark rum
- juice from 1 lime
- top off the glass with ginger beer (Ginger beer is non-alcoholic and can be found at most grocery stores including Trader Joe’s. If you can’t find it, I’m sure ginger ale would work too!)
If you’re looking for a fun, refreshing, not-too-sweet drink to make for company or bring to a BBQ, I recommend this drink. The ginger beer adds a really fresh flavor and the lime brightens it up, combining to make the perfect summer cocktail! What’s your favorite drink to sip in the summer?
